Virtual optical converters
SAT-IF and SAT-IF + DTT/DAB Receiver Nodes for QUAD and QUATTRO signal
General description:
The virtual converter receives an optical signal via a passive optical network (PON) from the optical LNB. It then performs a de-stacking frequency conversion, and outputs two or four universal lines for driving four individual set top boxes (TWIN and QUAD version).
A QUATTRO version presents the four individual polarities on separate coax outputs and are suited to drive a normal multi switch system. This product effectively eliminates the limitations on cable lengths and number of users everyone has had to live with from the birth of satellite reception, due to the characteristics of coax cable technology.
The frequency stacking, and de-stacking technology, in combination with modern laser and fibre optic technology, has made it viable to send the high-frequency IF satellite signals over a substantial longer distance than ever possible in the past.
